Our decorations went up this week and will come down Just after new year. Last year we went down to see the forest folk and took them a home made holly wreath but can honestly say I will never make one again. My fingers were in bits after making it, although to be honest it was a big one.

We were leaving the house on Saturday afternoon and saw what is fairly common at this time of the year locally - a convertible with the roof down and a tree sitting in the back seat!! (Although this one was accompanied by 2 dining room chairs!).

And the decorations in the office went up late last week, so my office now looks very drab (will have to get some tinsel this week).

Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance

Lady HW wanted outdoor lights this year so I spent most of Sunday (betwix showers) putting up LED "icicle" lights along the front of the house. I did take a photo on my phone to send to her ma, but I can't add it here at the moment. We've got a wreath on the front door, lights on the dresser in the dining room, and on the window in the kitchen. Tree is fibre optic, and then there's various other paraphenalia dotted about the house including randomly placed bits of tinsel.

Lady HW and a friend recently went to Raymon Blanc's place for a day "How to create the perfect Christmas" (very Stepford Wives I know), and they gave her loads of ideas of how to re-use wine corks, dish cloths etc etc. We'll see soon enough I guess!
