Russell Brand has a show on Radio 2 on Saturday nights, if you don't like the look of him - a face for radio?

Regards his sexuality - it's a bit like David Walliams, and Robbie Williams to an extent. A cynical marketing exercise at it's most basic level. If you declare you're hetrosexual, you run the risk of alienating a large market ("the pink pound"), and vice versa. So I would hazard a guess that to declare one's self as "metrosexual" or better yet, not declare at all, allows you to widen your market potential.

I don't know whether I almost like him or almost dislike him.I'm sure there's a lot more behind the persona that the public see though.
"Mazed" is what the Cornish would call him!!

Beckham's what you'd call 'Metrosexual', very well groomed & new mannish & appeals to gay men.
Russell Brand was on BBC Four last night in a sort of documentary he made in America with his mate off the radio. They were following Jack Kerouac's trip from 'On The Road' & talking to people who knew him. Apparently Jack Kerouac & the characters in the book were some of Russell's heroes when he was growing up & he would like to emulate their ethos of living without fear & seizing the day & not conforming to the norm. It was quite interesting & funny & luckily I had read the book so it did mean something to me even though I didn't like the 'Beat Generation' jazz poetry type stuff (don't think Russell was too keen on a group of old guys playing jazz behind him whilst he read some poetry either!).Russell did say he's been clean for 5 years now but interestingly not that drugs are bad & he shouldn't have ever taken them just that he had to stop because he'd lost his job & the drugs were killing him. His mate said that Russell attended AA meetings in various towns in the U.S. during their trip so it's obviuosly still a struggle for him.I'm hoping O.H. has taken the hint & bought me his 'My Bookie Wook' for Christmas, I think it'll be an interesting read. I've read some of his football columns as well, he's a big West Ham fan, & they're hilarious & very heartfelt.
