As a well-trained touch typist I don't look at the keyboard, and if I'm copy typing don't look at the screen that often either. It's a bu***r when you do look and then find you've had your fingers over the wrong keys. Thank goodness for Microsoft Office which gives you red wiggly lines under words that don't fit!! One prob, though, it will let through words which are mis-spelt if they are "real" words.

BW - I've just spent the last few minutes transcribing your message ...only to realize that your next comments were your own transcription!!!!
Yep - I often hit the key next to the one I want- but I really am useless at spelling too- so no excuses!
Rustylady....how on earth can you not look at the keyboard????? I have to watch every letter but am proud to say that I now type with 2 fingers and press the space bar with my thumb!!
( also manage to type now without the help of my tongue being chewed too!!!!!)

Guessing here but I reckon most of the errors described here are down to, like myself, being a two fingered typist, especially the transcribed letters.
Always thank people who have helped you immediately, as they may not be around to thank later.

The only time I use a second finger is for CAPS key, Alt & Ctl.Last edited by bubblewrap; 11-12-2007, 08:53 PM.The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

I'm with Piskie - very fast at touch typing when alone, but when there's a witness about .... and my problems are with 'teh' as well, and putting the first letter of the second word onto the end of the first word - so ... puttingt he firstl etter of thes econd word .. you get my gist?! Also seem to have trouble with any word ending 'ment' which often becomes 'mnet' instead. Hey ho!!Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance
