Hi all
Just a quickie to say hi, wish you all a wonderful Christmas, Yule, Hannukah etc.
It has been a funny old year down here. I've been engrossed in my crystal therapy course and we've been decorating and sorting out the house to get the business moving. Needless to say we lost the plot a bit on the allotment. With blight, chocolate spot, weeds etc it all got a bit much. We still have the lotties but very little has happened so I've not had much to share and was a bit jealous so I avoided things for a while. Everyone seemed to be harvesting wonders and I was swimming in a sea of unplanted seeds, plantlets and weeds etc. Got a bit ostrichy I think for a while.
Then we lost November when my MIL was taken into the Treliske extremely poorly and subsequently died. Mr EB has struggled some with all that has happened and we were left to clear up, sort out and dispose of as appropriate her effects. Not pleasant at 200+ miles (4 1/2 hour drive one way). Mr EB is co-executor of her estate so it's still hanging around.
I'm now that far behind that I still haven't bought any garlic or overwintering broad beans yet and as for the stuff that isn't where it was supposed to be by now well that's life.
I know it all sounds whiny. Sorry. But we are still here, still plodding on a bit and I plan to get back on top come the new school term. I've got a bit philosophical about it all and decided that what hasn't been done hasn't been done and I'm not going to over do it trying to do everything as it won't benefit anyone long term and I don't enjoy any of it.
We have a small Yule ritual planned for this weekend which will hopefully help to get things moving again. I'll take some time to plan properly for next year especially as we have my parents for Christmas next year and I want to take them to the lottie on Christmas Day to dig up/pick the veg as I think that will be a great way to start things off.
Hope you are all well. I will get round to answering PMs and things over the next week or so and catching up on the threads I've missed. I'll also try to post a piccy of the boys (our three gingers we got earlier in the year - so you can see how they've grown).
Best wishes and virtual hugs
