  • Curious about wassailing

I've seen a few references to wassailing here and Google has provided me with further info. It seems quite a movable feast though! I would really like to wassail my plot and am looking for ideas on what other people do and when. Any night time stuff is totally out for me (too far from home and deserted for a single lady and small children!) so ours would be a day time celebration.

I'd love to hear what other people are planning (or have done in the past).
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

What you have to do Seahorse is build a bonfire in the middle of your plot, strip off all your clothes, hold a swede or a turnip in one hand and a leek on top of your head! You then dance three times round the bonfire one way and three time the opposite way.

A few piccies would be appreciated!

Not quite sure how you go about wassailing - when I asked the Wellingtons today they said something about throwing champagne around the place.

Clearly they were pulling my leg, as the only sensible place to throw champagne is down one's neck.

          What do I do?

Mind you, at least they didn't suggest dancing round in the nuddy!

Hmm, yes, this offering the plot booze does seem to be a recurring theme Surely couch grass can't distinguish between Moet & Chandon and vinegar from Lidl though!?!?

I have been reading stuff about wassalling involving bonfires, again a dangerous thing if you are skyclad.

You know... I'm so tempted but I'm not sure I want to be responsible for a spate of heart attacks amongst the old boys who are my lottie neighbours!!!

Aye, it means tackle out. Surely you don't have to be in the nip for wassalling activities, I mean, its January. Frostbite and singeing. That can't be a good combo.
