Just one of my bestest prezzies on Christmas Day was a Cookbook that I have wanted (even before the author finally finished writing it!) and it is by my very favourite Irish Vegetarian Chef, Denis Cotter, of Cafe Paradiso Restaurant, in Cork, southern Ireland, called: WILD GARLIC, GOOSEBERRIES.....AND ME. A chef's stories and recipes from the land.
        And WOW! Thanks Piggies! XX

Mum bought me a window ledge heated propogator which was really kind and thoughtful of her. Also got a load of lovely pamper type stuff which is great cos I don't tend to buy it for myself.

Strangest pressie was two cat Christmas present stockings which were pushed through the letter box with no id on them for our cats - think they may be from the little girl next door who likes to play with them but she's away for a few days so I can't ask - in the meantime, they're going mental with the catnip bags!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Oh yesss.... don't remind me about catnip... I bought some for our ginger tom who loves it, and thought it a chuckle till he nearly fell down the stairs after eating some, and then had a really bad tummy after finding the hidden remainder of the bag and raiding it

My other cat could care toffee for the stuff thank goodness

This morning, my best pressie is a new toaster - not romantic, but very much appreciated.

Yesterday my fave present was £100 to spend in a fabric store - way hey.

So is this after the wood-working designs are completed?

I think my family heard me waffling on about the lottie, and the extension (hence new kitchen) this year. I got 3!!! cookbooks: Jamie Oliver's new one, a similar one from an Irish restaurant critic Tom Doorely and his wife, who grow their own at home (another gardens and recipes book, I mean - far superior to Jamie's in my liking of it), and the "Irish Country Markets" cookbook (by a girl who was doing the Midleton market initially, only 15 miles from Cork city - really county Cork is the food capital of the country).

I got some lovely smelly hand stuff from IL's (will put into new downstairs bathroom once it's painted), some wine and a few more kitchen things (mugs, serving dish for bread and butter, etc).

And my OH gave me a fab pressie (after getting all morto that he'd forgotten to get something from DD to me - not that I cared in the least, most of the little things I gave him from her were necessaries like socks and pj's!). He has arranged a weekend away in a fab hotel in county Cork, which is only a couple of miles from his parents (and where my bro works) - just for the 2 of us. We are leaving the toddler in her grannie's house for the weekend and she will be thoroughly spoilt while we get to go to the spa and do absolutely nothing else (except drink lots of wine and read our books by the fire!).

My best presents were a breadmaker from Mr OWG (which has been used non-stop since Christmas day) and a pasta maker for Nanna-OWG

(I also got lots of dog related presents - mugs, aprons, tea-towels, books etc)

D'ya know - I've got so many things on the go I hardly know what to do next.
I'm actually all marf and trousers (no, not you Paul ) Prolly won't get around to any of it.

'Course you will if you want, hon, and 'whatever' if you don't!

My mum's friend (who is well known for her prevarication) said a funny thing - 'why is Hazel going to go for an allotment now? If she's not careful she won't have anything left to do for when she retires...'

If that attitude isn't tempting fate to strike you down on the day before you retire, I don't know what is!

Here's to doing exactly what you want to do, when you want to do it! (*chink)
