The shelf is greenhouse staging from Wilko. It's not huge but there's plenty of room for eight good sized seed trays and it was only £9.99. I'll move it out to the g/h once it's a bit warmer.

You've made me wonder if I could put the whole thing on the kitchen worktop in front of the window now... off to investigate!!!

Thanks it's the one I thought was from Wilko remembering what an excellent price it was. No doubt they'll be bringing in the gardening stuffs now that Christmassy stocks gotta go.

You can also use other sunny-side window using lower table than an average height kitchen worktop but for us, it blocks the view of our back garden. On the window sill, I still have to watch out for them as they tend to get leggy so I transfer them to the outer window sill where I can still keep an eye on them from the kitchen obviously now is too cold.

I had a friend who used to bring treacle(Golden Syrup) and banana sarnies to work for his bait every day!
When asked "Why treacle and banana?" he replied " Well you know how it is when you eat a banana sarnie and the banana shoots out the side?...................not so with a treacle and banana sarnie as the treacle glues it in!"

I love golden syrup on a home-made bread crust - preferably while said crust is still warm. Now THAT's decadent - which should mean havng only 10 remaining teeth?

Golden syrup on warm toast, topped with clotted cream (known in Devon as thunder and lightning)

I used to eat lots of syrup, honey & sugar (not all at the same time though!) butties when I was little, probably why I had to go to the dentist so often!
