    [QUOTE=HeyWayne;158997]

    I was 6ft 5 when I left school and I had to have black socks so that the gap between shoe and trouser hem wasn't so noticeable. Otherwise I'd hear "Invite your trousers down for tea", or "when's the flood?". Hilarious!

    Hehe, I can get away without socks, my feet can never be seen! I had the same sort of comments at school though but in reverse - whats the weather like down there et al.

      At least you can shorten them!!! Must be very annoying having to pay for all that extra material

      Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

      Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

        I'm 6 foot 4 and wouldn't consider my self that tall as most of the male relations on my mothers side are above 6 foot. MrsB's cousin is 6foot 8 - now he is a big fella and one of the only people that I have to look up to.
        I hate when we are out for a drink and you get the local smartass shouting across the bar "Whats the weather like up there lads?"or "Stand up so my mate can see how tall you are". Last one that tried that one got held upside down by the ankles and was asked "How close are you to the toilet bowl then -we can't see down that far?"
        But its not all bad - never anyone standing behind you at concerts and at the end of the night at the disco your mates can find you "just look for the big fella and go where he does". You tend to find that idiots are less likely to try and start a fight when you are on the taller side.
        There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

          Me too. I buy trouser with short leg lengths and they are still too long. Even on my lofty 5'3"

            They dont make trousers to fit 4'9 total body length, unless they're childrens and unfortunately children don't have hips and bums like mine But yes, I can at least have them taken up.

            Funny, I used to get the same sort of comments about standing up, the weather, and all that sort of 'hilarious' stuff, but also I got pushed to the front at concerts and sporting events so I could see because everyone else could still see over me haha!

              I'm also belonging to the short a**e brigade as i am also 5ft. I find trousers and jeans M&S fit just nice but my problem is with knitwear. The sleeves are always too long and it takes away from the whole thing if you have to roll them up.

              And when your back stops aching,
              And your hands begin to harden.
              You will find yourself a partner,

                Hmm, I have a different problem. I am 5 foot 2 but have about a 31" inside leg. Therefore, it doesn't take a genius to work out that I am short from the bottom up, waists are never in the right place for me and sit around hip level! However, my biggest problem buying clothes is that across my back is a size 10 but due to natures generosity, I require a size 18 to button at the front!! Anyone got tips on where to buy (reasonably priced) clothes with breathing space?

                  I'm 5' 10" and got to agree that buying some clothes (like a lot of them lol) gets annoying, 34" leg trousers are quite a rariety I find and the length in the sleeves annoys the hell out of me. we've just been supplied with new jackets at work and even the small size, size 8/10 fits me around my body, its a bit short in the arms, but the medium size fell off my shoulders, I can't win. I just wear long gloves to cover my wrists
