  • Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall tonight 9pm

I'd strongly recommend the C4 programme Hugh's Chicken Run tonight by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall (River Cottage bloke) on intensive farming of chicken.

    Hugh's Chicken Run | 4Food | Channel4.com

I was bought his books on Fish and Meat over Christmas and find his ethical meat views very appealing - eat less but of a higher quality and pay for minimal cruelty.

    PS Nice to be back.

Must admit I like to watch him but I was reading the River cottage Year book last night and he was advocating cooking Snipe or Woodcock without gutting them. He then says you spoon out the entrails after they are cooked and spread them on toast to go with the Quail! Adding Hares blood to thicken the stock was another delight of his!

Looking forward to HFW, Gordon Ramsey and Jamie Oliver getting together on Friday as well!

            PS Welcome back Johnty!

I have to say we should all go along with minimal cruelty.

Nearly as bad as putting Horse muck on your Rhubarb ... I think Custard is much better, if a little lower in fibre

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

I saw the end where he had to cull some. You could see he felt uncomfortable about it. Ot also showed in the next episode that he gets quite upset about it
