  • Whilst this gardening lark may be good for you

    ...it doesn't improve your cooking!

I've just been off down the bottom of the garden to plant a lil gooseberry bush, having first turned off the bolognaise sauce that was cooking. Right? Wrong!

Lovely smell of burned bol sauce and a text sent to hubby to bring supplies on way home.

    Gooseberry bush looks comfy tho

    Done that!

The cruel thing is, that when you are sitting distractedly at the laptop on the Vine with the idle thought 'oh, that smells good...' it is TOO LATE - the dinner is already ruined!!

Or you could "de-glaze" and lob a bottle of wine in there now, by the time he's home it'll be perfick!

Add a stick of garlic bread (with LOADS of garlic) and his tastebuds will be blown so he'll never notice (and follow MOM's advice too for added benefits - but keep the other half the bottle to accompany or even precede dinner for best effect, or just open a second...)
