THEY are all peculiar! After all, for many generations, people focused on the growing, gathering, preparation of their food. Society now has passed these vital skills on to others to do for them. Sadly, others are making a trashy job of it! You are what you eat is a catchy saying but so true. The real satisfaction comes in growing the vegetables, preparing them, cooking them, baking the bread etc. They are all 'slow' processes. When it takes you between 3 and 9 months to produce the vegetables on your plate you realise that the super-fast world is barking mad.

Roll out the eccentrics I say - they are healthier, more grounded and happier people. (Must investigate chocolate wellies!)

Next to the chocolate teapots, aisle 13 in Asda.

Not sure I'd class myself as eccentric - I can't afford to be eccentric for starters, plus I don't own a single frog.

I do talk to Mildred. Mildred's my visiting starling, she always pops by when I doing a spot of digging. Although she doesn't say much back, I know she understands.

Oh yes, so do I. I push them down, tuck them in and say "Grow, you b*gger!"

I always talk to my plants - nicely, think the positive vibes can't do them any harm! Quite often give my garden and the lottie reiki too, my OH thinks I'm a witch!

I talk to Belinda Scarecrow - but she's a person, so I'm sure that that's ok.

I always talk to my seeds as I put them in their pots/trays and my plants when they go in the ground. But then I also talk to my cats, the birds in the garden, any passing stray deer, whatever - tho I'm getting a bit worried about the possibility of talking to the trees in the wood.

uh-oh. They've got my size too.

Fortunately as I have already been frivolrous with my credit card today, I can resist for the moment.
