Unfortunately not, the text wraps to the width of the forum we set, good news with larger images in the new version coming out is that it automatically adjusts large image sizes so it doesn't break the design of the forum. So if someone adds a massive picture into a post it's gonna resize it automatically.

No nothing to do with advertising, I just thought i'd float the question with you all to see what you prefer. It seems the majority who voted are liking the way it is

Ahhh good, it's just my cynical side showing, nothing personal.

Haven't a clue what you are talking about, so please leave it as it is.

Thank you all very much for your posts and votes, I guess we'll be leaving it as it is for now. (Unless higher powers decided otherwise) But for now you are safe

          Thanks again for your input.

          Regards

Thanks Ben, it's nice to know that just 39 of us swayed the vote against change!

Some strange techno-witchcraft took hold of my PC t'other night and the screen on here ended up full width. It was 'orrible.

It's why newspapers and magazines have columns after all. Much easier to read.

We did a fair bit of research for our own website, and it showed that users in the main, don't like scrolling left to right.

Nice that you asked Ben, many webmasters/developers tend to adopt a God-like persona and do as they wish without consulting their audience/users/stakeholders (pick yours).

              Keep up the good work.

Ooops didn't realise this was an older thread (that'll teach me for scanning instead of reading in full!!!) Have voted to keep the look the way it is anyhow, I love the layout and wouldn't change a thing

So why has the Forum width been increased? Would it be to do with advertising?

I can honestly say that I hadn't noticed that it had changed until someone pointed it out. It's only a slight increase isn't it?

Maybe I'm just a bit thick but I have no idea what you're all talking about. Have never had to scroll left to right, just up and down and apart from it all looking a bit softer as of today it doesn't seem much different, still have a couple of inches of space to each side of the posts which personally I'd prefer to be filled in so that I don't have to scroll down so often.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I have to 'nix' my sidebar to see the whole thing without l2r scrolling now. Not the end of the world but... mildly irritating.
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
