Not good is it? I'm pretty sure at least part of my lottie is going to end up swamped but of more pressing concern is the fact that we live near a canal I've got sandbags but they're holding my greenhouse down... what a dilemma I shall have should the waters approach!
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
had a little rain in High Wycombe BUT it has gone really dark.
It doesnt matter how heavy in rains in hw we always have roads that have flooded, I think the council dont have enough drains, also as hw is very hilly you get rain running down the hill and it collects at the bottom!!! luckily I live up the hill
Hope everyone is safe and all the allotements are flood free!
We don't get flood alerts where we are, because technically we're not "flooded"...
However, we're right on the water table (about 500 yards from the beach) and if you dig about a foot down, you hit beach sand.
Hence, there is absolutely nowhere for the water to go. Our drainage ditches are full - in fact the water is now at ground level and my garden, field, veg patch and chicken paddock are so waterlogged that there is approx 2 inches of standing water
There's just nowhere for it to drain to. So technically, we're not flooded, except we are flooded....
Well, clearly you turn it upside down and use it as a boat!
Lol!!! So if you see a crazed woman paddling along in an inverted greenhouse, desperately holding a huge box of seeds aloft to try and keep them dry... that'll be me!

ROFL!!!
Just don't stab any holes in it!
To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower
Technically, the road to and from work has been closed for the last three days. Most people are ignoring the boards, driving round them and carrying on - including me.. I've got a little petrol Yaris. It's passable as long as you take it carefully. The only problem I can see is when some eejit in a lorry or 4X4 comes tanking through from the other direction as it could swamp me or mess up my engine .

Nothing we can do about it!Just make the best of a bad job.
