    Bloody Weather

We had a thunderstorm earlier followed by a cloud burst and hail. Made driving home interesting. I'm having to take a detour home as my usual (and quick) route is flooded.

Weather lady on behind me says Friday Heavy Rain & High Winds, Sat Heavy Rain, Sun Heavy Rain.

We had rain & gales all day Tues when I had to walk home (70 mins).
We had lovely sunshine all day Wed.
today we had rain all day again, but no real flooding so far, just very big puddles.

I took the kids to school this morning as usual (5-10 min walk), was soaked through by the time we got there, came home & changed clothes put on gaiters etc & took dog out, got home soaked through again... Changed again, did a few jobs, @ half 3 back out to school again, came home soaked through ... Had enough now, am in jammies & dressing gown with 3 sets of clothes in the washer!

We had lots of rain yesterday, and some this morning (a kind of drizzle only though) but it has now cleared enough that the clouds are high in the sky (not the leaden low skies of the past week) and there is a hint of sunshine on the building opposite me (I face north).

As our weather usually becomes your weather, perhaps there is some hope for tomorrow?

We had hail yesterday too S.B.P. but just bl**dy incessant rain today, it's so miserable but at least we don't suffer from flooding round here. I wish I could light an open fire to cheer myself up too but we have gas & live in a 'smokeless' zone!

It drizzled most of today too. Apart from a quick trip to shops I staying in. Astonishing how cars don't slow down at all in the wet.
I think a cocktail is justified now, given the awful weather?

                Poor Sue

We've lastly moved into a house with an open fire and now I have to say I couldn't be without one, especially in winter. I love the 'warming effect' a burning fire gives, love the sound it makes, love burning things (lol!), but hate cleaning it out! Was sooo miserable today that I lit the fire at midday. Sort of drizzling on and off all day here, but grey and overcast and light that lacks any cheer!

                At least one 2-sheds!

We live in a 'smokeless zone' too, but when the gas-fire conked out we pulled it out & there was an open fire all ready to go Got someone in to take the old gas-pipe out, bought a grate and away we went! We burn a mixture of smokeless fuel & well seasoned logs, works fine It definately does a better job of cheering me up than a gas-fire...

Not only do the cars not slow down, have you noticed how some of them veer in towards the pavement so they can deliberately splash us pedestrians?

I hope this means that all the rain will have run out come the summer !
(well not ALL of it, just the daytime variety)

Ain't it miserable with this non-stop rain? I daren't go outside for the gardening tasks and my big bonfire pile isn't getting the chance to dry up for the final burning . Cheer up it's only January, not May.

I saw a headline in a paper today that said we're to have a month's worth of rain in the next two days...

I'm in Essex, so I'm guessing that'll be about an inch and a half.

It's rained all day again here. Not really heavy, just enough to get you wet through and miserable.

You can stop sending it up here too!

Wind went into the south on Thursday and we've had torrential rain since then. Although it was more a heavy sleet this morning.
