Think yourself lucky Paul, a month's worth round here is probably about a foot! Think we've had that over the last few days but luckily we live on a slight hill & there's not often any flooding in our area, just a few flooded fields & roads where the drains are blocked.

I'm beginning to forget the last time we had a day without rain here

We're due to have south easterly winds (fairly strong most of the week) and lots of rain, as well as a cold snap (down to 3 degrees in the daytime apparently when the cold front hits today or tomorrow) for the rest of the week - according to the reasonably nice lady forecaster last night. I am just glad it wasn't my grandad's favourite forecaster cos I'd have hit the telly - she smiles no matter how bad her news is!!

Twas drizzly and windy this morning.

One good thing - if there is this much rain, will that not fill up all the reservoirs so that there won't be any hosepipe bans this summer when it is nice and dry and sunny and hot?! (Or is this just wishful thinking - the weather part at least....)

Sorry winged one, its a simply lovely morning here. The sun is shining, there's blue sky and no wind......(is it a hint of spring? I've already seen the blue tits checking out last years nest boxes! )

Although I'm stuck in the office , the weather is lovely and dry and sunny outside. I had a mild rime of frost on the windscreen when I left home at 6.30 am though.

Hope it lasts 'til the weekend, I REALLY need to do some digging. New azada and all that .

Oh we've dried up a bit by now, but it is still a dull, grey, depressing blanket of cloud in the sky and a fair bit of wind too.

I really wanted to get some digging done by now, as the second half of the plot is waiting (I have it covered, but want to let it break down a little) and I want to actually get some veg into that half this year - not more couch grass like last year. But there's no sign of dryness when I might be able to get there, and precious little time to get there anyway with everything else going on at home.

I'll just have to entertain myself by sowing some leeks in pots at the weekend (for baby leeks in the summer, will keep some seeds for March for winter harvesting).

We had a lovely frost start to the day for a change today, though apparently the rain is on its way back. Really frustrating cos I havent been able to get anything done on my new lottie and am starting to get impatient .... still, I know I'm not the only one
