  • Felco No 9, just for sinistrals

Being forced all my life to use right handed scissors, can openers and other everyday objects, today I rebelled and splashed out out a lovely pair of

"Number 9 Felco secataurs - left handed model"

Oh joy, finally something made for a lefty. They were an absolute joy to use today as I waded through 2 rows of raspberries and a couple of blackcurrant bushes.

The Number 7's are now reserved for Mrs P only.

Normal!!!, you right handers are so deluded.

If you didn't know, the opposite hemisphere of your brain works what ever side you use. So you right hookers use the left hand hemishpere of your brain.

In simple terms this means that you are all barking mad as you are not in your RIGHT mind like we lefties are

However, on average, a leftie lives 8 years less than a rightie. Must be all those bloody scissors.

Our daughter is also a leftie and we buy her bits and bobs from the left handed shop in London - makes her life much easier.

Good old Felco, we have three pairs. J has a hand problem so uses the pro set, I have the long nosed black headed type because my hands are so big, they're the only make/size that I can actually get to fit and I also use her old, non-pro pair if I need to.

I've been drooling at the idea of a pair of these for a year or two. They wouldn't even be just for my use either as OH and two daughters are both lefties too. - Although OH's idea of a gentle prune leans towards the....um, shall we say overenthusiastic?.....so I probably wouldn't really let him near them. I might just go and splash out now though.

Hey Wayne, the ambidextrous are always in two minds about everything. And will probably die aged 101, still debating about whether it's a good idea.

PS. If I could just find a left-handed corkscrew I'd be happy.

That reminded me of Capital Radio quite a few years back - one April Fools they played an Ad for B&Q or some other DIY store, advertising Rainbow paint
