No, I think the next question is going to be. "How big is an acre?"

I mean, has anyone actually seen one? I haven't. I have no idea how big an acre is if truth be known.

Or a hectare for that matter, never seen one of those either.

So we need one sack of Farmers' Delight chantenay carrots seed, 3,000 little packets and someone with an immense attention span to spoon them out for us. Then split the cost 3,000 ways. Wouldn't like to bet it'd be much cheaper if we had to pay the spoon wielder!

Please feel free to check my maths......
There are 6,272,640 square inches to an acre.
                        3,500,000 seeds needed per acre...
so that's one seed per 2 square inches

( yes- I HAVE got lots to do today!!!)

How come pkts from Seeds of Italy always have large quantities £1.99/£1.59 gets you between (roughly) 2000 to 7200 seeds depending on the variety?

Not wanting to put a dampener on anything, but I believe that picture was taken at a protest in America about the latest Iraq war, where one pair of shoes was put down and named for every US person killed (around 1000 pairs at the time!).
