What one song, when you hear it, is guaranteed to lift your mood?

I have a few, but no matter what "Today" by the Smashing Pumpkins, has me singing aloud and everything's cool with the world.

As soon as I hear that guitar intro....

    Ahhhh

Not my usual kind of band but I just love Take That's 'Shine'. I first heard this when my radio alarm launched into it one morning after a bad night of feeling stressed and anxious about life, the universe and everything. Instant feel good stuff:

YouTube - Take That - Shine
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

A rather recent one - Mika 'Relax - Take it Easy'. Thanks to Madmax taking me to Lisbon zoo at the end of last year to see the dolphin show. It was a gorgeous sunny 'stolen' day and they played this song as we were all waiting in the special auditorium waiting for the show to start. Now it always makes me smile.

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

Oh heck, how do you just choose one tune? It is so true that music affects and can alter your mood. I love the oldies - this may sound wierd but my fave housework music is the 1812 Overture played full blast. (I hate housework, but by the time you get to the canons at the end I've usually nearly finished). Beach Boys and Beegees are "summer music". Cher's Simply the Best is a favourite, and I love Acker Bilk Stranger on the Shore. Eclectic is the word, I think. I'm also a fan of Bon Jovi, Guns & Roses, Everly Brothers and so many more. I could go on and on. I will have to make a proper list and then narrow them down to a few real favourites, I suppose.

Oh yes, absolutely! Fell in love with him when I was about 15 and have never looked back! It's a bit fanciful but I feel we've grown up together. Class act!
