  • Its the little things that make you happy...

Outside playing with the dogs this morning (I mean, how many times can you chase a ball and it STILL be exciting to bring it back?) and I noticed that our tulip and giant allium bulbs have started to come through our flower beds next to the greenhouse

Got a lovely little warm feeling to see them poking through the bark chippings

    It great isn't?
I've been exploring the garden too this morining and excitedly informing next doors cat which bulbs are up! She didn't look that impressed, she looked less impressed when I danced a little gig all the way to the shed to check on my spuds which I put to chit yesterday.
    Oh life is good!
Imagination is everything, it is a preview of what is to become.

Just noticed this morning that the lenten hellebores are opening - lovely! There's a little poem that goes - 'It takes so little to make us glad..' It's really about the slightest kind remark or action we need to do to make someone's day - there's also the verse that says ' It takes so little to make us sad...' -Always makes me think, that does.

Gardens are great at the gladness bit though, aren't they?

I've got snowdrops and crocuses in flower and I grin everytime I look at them!
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

I have cheery yellow crocuses making me smile as I start my car in the mornings now, and daffs just poking through as well, I think spring is my favourite time of year - so much promise of things to come. (then again, my birthday is in the autumn, and the summer is lovely and warm and I can play with my veggies .... hmmmm, on second thoughts I love all the seasons)

You are all so right about the little things being the best ...
Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance

When I walked home from work today it was still light!! The daffs are out in the border across the road - AND THEY'RE FORECASTING SNOW FOR TOMORROW.

I'm going to have a look at the weekend, the gardens in the dark when I leave in the morning and when I get in at night. Boooo!

Daffs are getting quite tall out the front though.
