  • Ugh... housework!

Good grief, is there anything more boring!? I do the essentials everyday (washing, dishwasher on, hoovering etc) but other things tend to get left a bit This week I've decided I really should do the whole rugs up, sofas out, all surfaces cleared thing, before it gets really out of hand! I'm about halfway through and I'm bored to tears!!! It's nice to see it all looking a bit smarter I suppose and I did find a missing library book inside one of the sofas (!!!) but I'd so much rather be outside...

Still, I'll deserve a reward for all my hard work, won't I?

    *reaches for seed catalogue...
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

I'm neither squeaky clean nor filthy dirty, somewhere in the middle. I don't necessarily clean everyday but you notice when it's needed . I think it helps to keep your house as empty/minimilist as possible and store away things in cupboards/storeroom. But one thing you should do everyday is washing the dishes. As for hovering everyday, well life's too short for that!

Its amazing what you do find though isn't - tucked under the sofa cushions!

I'm a bit of a "blitzer" but wish I was a bit more organised.

That sort of clean only gets done when a room is painted - and then only cos it'd spoil the paint!

I really want a dishwasher, not just to wash the dishes but also so I can stack them out of sight for a day or two, rather than leaving them on the side for all to see!!!

I like the little and often approach, find housework boring but can't stand mess.
My OH thinks I've got OCD cuz when I come in from night duty I always plump up the sofa before I go to bed even though I know the kids are gonna jump all over it and squash it again!

Our dishwasher goes on every other day usually (there's only two of us), and we occasionally have to fish the odd knife or pan out again and wash it by hand if we've used them all up.

Everything gets a clean once a week - bathrooms, kitchen, dusting, washing etc. All downstairs is hard flooring so that gets swept and cleaned once a week. I clean the oven about once a month, and the windows get a wipe over every couple of months (frames and all).

I used to say that LadyWayne was a bit like Monica from Friends in that respect, but I think it's rubbing off. I hate mess and clutter.

Oh housework, can think of better things to do, I’ve got a few days off work now and was going to catch up my house chores but the weather is so nice and sunny after all the rain.
I’m going to spend some time getting my veggie plot ready and do some gardening work and let house chores wait till it rains. so its just a quick tidy round till then.

See, I iron to order, apart from work shirts which get done on a Sunday evening.
