  • Darn wind!!

    no, not the jerusalem artichokes!

Living on this airfield is like a wind-tunnel at the best of times - but today , my little green-house (plastic jobbie) has just down a Mary Poppins and on returning to earth has deposited the contents all over the garden snarls

Shame you can't do a Mary Poppins "click" and everything goes back as it was!

T'is windy here too, I had a bit of a fight opening the gate from the car park this morning (the wind howls down the car park directly towards the gate and you have to pull it against the wind to open it) - lord only knows how the smaller, lighter people have managed it.

I,ve picked my bay in a pot up twice, if it goes over again it's going in the shed and there are wheelie bins blowing up the cul-de-sac, good job the binmen came yesterday.
Teachers at school recon the wind makes the kids hyper so that should be fun!

I hate it when it's like this. I'm living in fear of my greenhouse ending up a crumpled heap, it's already bent at one side. I've supported it as best I can, so I think it's just a case of hoping for the best now Add to that the fact that my autistic son is totally spooked by the wind and has given me a right wallop this morning in his panic, putting my back out and I am not at all a happy bunny!
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Bang goes my garlic, broad beans and peas..... my mini greenhouse did a Mary Poppins impression too - thought I might be able to rescue most of it but then found out that not only had the greenhouse done a peter pan but it had come down upside down and deposited everything at the bottom of it on the top of all my seedlings

I hope your back eases soon SH (hot shower?), your son's not the only one spooked by the wind - I hate it too. It howls down the valley and seems to hover over our chimney and then blows straight down it! The old chap next door has a whirligig parrot on top of his shed and it wings are spinning like crazy.

Hands like that would be very useful later today when I am trying to push barrows of haylage across the field to my horseys - no fun on a still day but with this wind!!!

I can't help but think that the wind farms are super productive today...
