Anyone watch Life on Mars? how good was that and now we have Ashes to Ashes yaaaaaayyyyy
I daren't hope it's even half as good as LoM (best tv EVER) but I can't wait!
Love the Gene Genie!!!
I think you've forgotten who you're talking to.
An overweight, over-the-hill, nicotine-stained, borderline-alcoholic homophobe with a superiority complex and an unhealthy obsession with male bonding.
You make that sound like a bad thing.
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
Me too Sue, I can remember when policing was actually like that back in the 60s, ahhhhhhhhhh me, those really were the days, Romford nick when it was still part of Essex .....................
Trouble is nobody would belive some of the things I saw - on reflection, they may well do with the popularity of LoM.
And I worked with guys like those in Gene Genie's squad, come to think of it, I think I was one of them .............
I loved LoM but I missed the last few episodes (don't know why), so don't know what happened at the end. I keep looking for a repeat on digital but haven't found it yet.
*Heavy philosophical comment coming up*
A lot of people complain about the number of repeats on TV, they must live extremely humdrum boring lives where nothing unexpected happens where you don't have the chance to or are unable to record a series you have been following. If you are reading a series of books (eg Harry Potter) and you are unable to read them for a while, you have the opportunity to borrow or buy the books later.
This isn't so with TV programs. Series I haven't seen the end of due to unforseen circumstances are:- LoM, Budgie (strikes and power cuts), Band of Gold, Lost, and several others I can't recall immediately.
I don't sit watching TV all day or all evening, but I do enjoy the odd serial and I find it really annoying when I miss episodes through no fault of my own.
I actually set up the video to record "Lost" whilst Brian was ill. His mother saw fit to unplug the TV and video 'cos she couldn't understand why it kept coming on when she hadn't touched it.
"I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)
"It is neccessary to have wished for death in order to know how good it is to live" (also Alexandre Dumas)

We gave up on Lost because we missed a couple of episodes and now its on Sky 1 we don't see it at all.
I do like the dramas on BBC1 and the iplayer they have now makes it easy to catch up with stuff I missed.
Can't wait for Ashes to Ashes, hope its as good as LoM
hum - not sure about it.... much as I adore the Gene man, I need to see another episode.
They 'producers' said 'don't compare' (see, now I'm waggling my fingers *sigh) - but then they do the very same thing with refering to Sam Tyler all the time.
