"Home" By Gary Puckett & The Union Gap an anti Vietnam song always gets me, as does Mike and The Mechanics, The Living Years because the words perfectly sum up the relationship I had with my late father.

Live each day as if it was your last because one day it will be
definitly some tear jerkers there..my favourite is the valley, written by jane siberry, sublime when kd lang sings it, mainly because of the line, "and the staccato of the staff" ive been singing sky rather than staff ever since it came out years ago. bit like the christmas card we got from a friend with fond wishes from the baby cheeses..
WOW some great choices.
Have been lucky to see "green fields of france" played live by a favourite band of mine called `The Men They Couldn`t Hang and also "Willie McBride" By the Pogues.
But think mine would be Streets Of London by Ralph Mctell........Every time a wobbly lip for me . Minty X
Oh dear, this is a worry. The one that really gets me, and has since I was a wee thing listening to Forces Favourites is Puff the Magic Dragon. Luckily you rarely hear it now but I still have to leave the room, turn it off.
Don't know why it upsets me - no sad memories or trauma - just a very sad song.
Has anybody seen the advert for the new Season 'White' on the BBC. Billy Bragg singing Jerusalem?
I have it on a cassette by BB, brilliant, all the left wing anthems including the original version of The Red Flag and the rewritten (by BB and Pete Seeger) version of the Internationale.
Had a quiet weep this morning when listening to them.
OK back from shops, watched it, and the usual happened. Why was everyone in the audience smiling - have they no hearts! And PP&M chabged the words, and what was she wearing?
I know what you mean BW - some of the classics just should not be tampered with . But this is just something else - I love it almost as much as the original but I wouldn't say it was better.
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

Just fabulous. Love Billy to bits.
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
