There are a fair few, but at least it's because they remind me of things. This last week or two though a DVD has been advertised on telly (Stardust) I'd never heard of it before and it holds no associations for me, but the music which plays during that ad makes me strangely depressed.Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

Used to play Willie MacBride busking 20 years ago. There was a few versions out there, by Irish folk singers etc. but I seem to remember 'the men they couldn't hang' doing it quite well.
I always thought Vincent(starry starry night) Don Maclean was a bit of a tearjerker.

Sensitive bunch aren't we?
It doesn't take a lot to turn the tap on for me. When we were young my sister used to sing Old Shep just to watch me cry - it'd probably still work.
Other now.. Yes, certainly Willie Mc Bride, Gallipoli too.
And, going back to folk club days, Dead Girl of Hiroshima and Hiroshima - the one that starts 'Now the sun is in the sky....' We had a chap there who sang it with such passion, just the memory chokes me.
Land of my Fathers sung by a Welsh choir.
And what about opera? When Violetta is giving Alfredo up at his Dad's request always gets me. But then there's something in most operas that moves me. I could go on.
Yodelling songs move me to tears of laughter but that's another story!

This is going to sound daft, but the old scientist from The Muppets doing Time In A Bottle. Gets me every time.
YouTube - The Muppets sing Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle"
Also Johnny Cash - Hurt (and I wept like a fountain when I saw NIN doing it live - I blame than on Johnny though - especially the video)
The Humpff Family - Be There
...and several others I'd have to hear, blub to, and add to the list, as my brain can't find 'em in its filing system right now
