Thanks, Geo, beautiful pictures. Now let's all confuddle Wayne by telling him a blackbird IS a thrush !

Just a straighforward Canon Ixus 500. 3x optical zoom, 5 mega pixel point and shoot.

Mildred's as bold as brass, she was about 3-4ft away and I had it on full zoom.

Err, I confess we buy 'value' sultanas and feed them to the local blackbirds, especially in winter - we had a pair for the past 3&half years that we could identify by a white 'spot' on his breast, they went round together and raised young in our clematis....unfortunately they haven't been seen this winter.

So get a 50p pkt of sultanas/raisins and see how popular you become with Mildred HW.

Oh, she sits and waits patiently by if I'm doing any digging. She sits there watching the ground, then if I stop she looks up at me as if to say "c'mon, get on with it man!"

I'll try the sultana trick sbp, ta.

LadyWayne's not that fond of sultanas, and she's been on the plot around three times in the last year, so doesn't see me dig very often.
