  • Do I change direction?

Having been self-employed, working from home for seven years, I am in need of a change. My working life has been admin/PA based and I am bored bored bored with looking at a pooter all day.

So a change is needed, yes?

    To what?

At 51 and 9/12ths what can one change to?

Ohh yes, I'm with you Hansmum! If I could change I would want to go into growing in a more meaningful way.

What else do you enjoy Piskie? (Besides drinking and rugby which I'm guessing cost you money rather than make it for you?!).
Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance

          Cheers Wayne, really enjoyed that.

Piskie, you seem to be good with people - have you thought of something in welfare. You could even do that for the Millitary and keep working in the same sort of job even when you have to move.

Imagination is everything, it is a preview of what is to become.

Can you afford to take a break? If you can, get a prospectus from your local college, or the O.U. if you don't want to be tied down to an area, and see what takes your fancy. If you see a course that you like the idea of then you might get an idea which direction you want to go in? Or if it's horticulture you'd like to do, there are loads of distance learning courses on th'internet

I'd get the prospectus anyway - good for ideas even if you don't do any of the courses. For instance - you might take a fancy to hotel management, then you could do a part-time course & work part time in a local hotel to get the experience & some cash in. Or be a plumbers apprentice () & do a day at college, or work part-time in the parks dept & do a City&Guilds or RHS horticulture course part time. The possibilities are endless !
