Mr HF and I look at photos a lot of the time and I will wear my dress for him.
He, our 'men' and little nephew wore top hat and tails in pale grey they all looked fantastic. we had a horse drawn carriage to the village church as a special gift (Daddy was to ill to come to our wedding) so a carriage was sent instead. :-)
It was red hot (July 20th) and my daft Brother made a bet with all Top and tailed men to go the whole day without 'down dressing' they did it but must have lost pounds in weight!
Lovely vicar married us and all the village people helped with church flowers, the bells and so much more- the most perfect day! not a huge wedding, just perfect for us.
    Best day of my life!

I had (still have!) a lovely pink/ivory dress, made by a friend, in a sudo-Elizabethen style - one day I'll shrink enough to get back into it!

I'll dig out the photos and the scanner and see what I can do....
The weeks and the years are fine. It's the days I can't cope with!

For a little blokey perspective on this my brother-in-law/best man - knowing I'm a bit of a petrol head, arranged for a friend of his to drive he and I to the manor house (where LadyWayne and I married) in his Aston Martin DB6. It certainly helped calm my nerves before the event!

Practise makes us a little better, it doesn't make us perfect.

Emerald green tartan silk taffeta, emerald green jacket and shoes beautiful colours horrible design I looked awful, we had awonderful day lots of fun we could only manage 11 family members between us so the other 30 guests were friends, met august married following junestill together 18 yrs this year. The Church we married in is the one they used in the film Tara Road and the crunchy nut cornflake ad.

Drooooool!! Personally, I'd have preferred to drive it myself rather than be chauffered!!

After I'd picked out my wedding dress and gone for fittings, he put his foot down and said that wasn't how he wanted the wedding, it was registry office and no fancy white dress - so I wore a long peach silk skirt with matching overblouse. And strangely enough, we're no longer together

We too did it on the cheap, second time for both of us and neither wanted a fuss, so I wore my linen trouser suit, new shoes and carried a bag (for the first time ever), and BW had a new waistcoat but insisted on wearing his black hat which I hate and now with his long hair I won't let him wear as it makes him look like an Hassidic Jew (no disrespect).

Here's a pic including No1 son, who I said could wear whatever he was comfortable in as long as he was there! (he was 16 at the time)

Mr D wore grey trousers and polished shoes, white shirt and black blazer, with a tie, I wore beige trousers, a gold coloured top and a black 'bolero' style jacket, with black heels (which I took off for the piccies as I towered over Mr D too high!

The wedding happened 6 months to the day after we met, only 6 weeks after we started going out together, and 10 days after he proposed on my Birthday, and was a lovely service at Manchester Registra Office, followed by a meal and night out in Manchester with our friends! Very much done on the cheap (I'm still waiting for my engagement ring), but very romantic and spur of the moment, and now 7 1/2 years later we are still madly in love and like a pair of kids, thoroughly enjoying life, we've still not even had an argument yet!

Oh, and I still have my wedding outfit, but unfortunately it doesnt fit any more!
