No sorry to say its nice to see the best in a situation but my neighbours are far to polite. The only people (friends ) that just knock and walk in were stood in my kitchen with me waiting for a coffee and were just as shocked.
I'd rather regret the things i've done than regret not doing them at all.

Well I have just sold a load of computer parts on ebay. Everything I sell goes recorded delivery so someone has to sign. I say so on my ads.

Saves any unpleasantness about Proof of Delivery and scams about "you did not deliver" etc.

If someone walked into my house like that and got no signature, I would find the name of the MD and Write a letter of complaint.

It's in the MD's interest and yours for the deliverer to be either fired or retrained. I doubt you were singled out: he/she probably does it a lot.

I had a credit card delivered in the same way almost, it was pushed through my letter box when it should have been signed for! I complained, I was angry.

Having grown up in an "interesting" area of Luton, I never leave doors open, and I get a bit twitchy about open windows too. We usually arrange for couriers et al to leave deliveries round the back in our bin cupboard, but to be honest most of the time our neighbour intercepts and takes them in for us.

            Useless.

I had my potatoes and shallots delivered today, because i work and i always buy a bit by mail order, i bought myself a parcel safe...

It's a big dark green metal box fixed to the front of the house. Its very simple to use... you open the lid, place item inside, close lid then turn lock. Simple.

Its locked safe till i open it with a key.

However of the many parcels and item's I've had delivered in the year and a half I've owned the thing only ONCE has the postman managed to carry out all the actions.. he never actually locks the thing, i mean there is very large printed instructions on the lid.

Tonight it was the same, i saw flap had been fiddled with when parking the car, i checked and there are my items unsecured in safe.

They must be able to read, they found the house, followed the instructions on the label on the door, found the safe....then forgot how to read.

            Useless people.

I was in the kitchen a didn't hear the door (stood next to the kettle boiling.) But instead of knocking louder he just walked in right there with my 2yr old twins, put the parcel down and left. I heard the door close and thought the kids were making a break for it went to look and found a box and i was spose to sign for it to.
Why on earth don't you keep your door locked? Even in Somerset I'm sure you have burglars and other criminals. You were lucky it was an honest deliveryman!

                    Hi

Could the 2 year old twins have moved the parcel, which may have just been put inside the doorway.
I used to deliver parcel, in the days of White Arrow, but if it needed a signature, I got a signature.
Managment did turn a blind eye, if parcel are delivered safely.
Because some just get left on doorstep, even in the rain.

I now drive a school mini-bus, and all my kids get delivered safely at school.

                    T

Afraid to say it but there are some really bad delivery persons out there people.Seen fragile parcels thrown into transit vans, this way up (side down)and just about everything else while I was driving full time. Not that its any different but when I deliver say a full load (24Tons) of best Irish sirloin beef or butter or turkey or anything I'm not allowed to leave the warehouse until it has been checked ,counted and quality controlled .If any differences in weights etc are found it must be sorted with the company that is sending the product before I leave otherwise me and the man that owns the lorries are responsible for the differences.
That said most white van persons are under extreme pressure to get a vanfull delivererd and then collect a vanfull and get it back to base.
Still in my view it's no excuse to just walk in dump the parcel and leave especially if it had to be signed for.
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

So a couple of weeks later than intended, work has commenced on my anti-ratty tunnel today.

Dismantling the existing structure was a lot harder than I expected, a lot of stuck screws that no amount of WD-40 would liberate! So a lot of action for my sharp mate Stanley, my hand axe and my...
