Hi, potential new person. Come and join us! I joined after I found the GYO mag. I've been growing veg for YONKS but no-one knows it all. I've picked up loads of good tips here. There are usually several ways of doing any single thing and some people find a particular one works best for them. Doesn't mean the other ways are wrong. People here appreciate that, so you don't get pontificating and major falling out. It's friendly and encouraging and life-enhancing. It's my home from home. It could be yours. Ah, you know you want to!

It’s the place to be when needing any help or advice or even to ask silly questions, it get so addictive you don’t want to leave, make loads of new friends who all enjoy doing the same thing, I love gardening and decided to have a go at growing some veggies this year, I turned ½ my back garden in to a veggie plot and needed to get some advice on what to grow and how to start.
So here I am never gonna look back and never be shy.

This was the first forum I ever joined but everyone's so friendly, and there's no such things as a silly question on here... .... .... ... even when I posted up to ask if anyone knew what this plant was (photo included) that I didn't recognise. I wondered of it was a weed, until someone pointed out that was EXACTLY what it was

                Flippin' bird seed

But no-one laughed at me. Not out loud anyway

Mafia family - we make you an offer you can't refuse, you agree or we come round and cut the heads off all your sprouting broccoli and leave the heads in your bed, turn down the heating in the greenhouse and you get quick frozen veggies?

No, I'm afraid that don't work on my 'puter for some reason (it took me a minute or two to find the Alt Key, so you see? this is not as straightforward as you might have thought....)

And no names no pack drill, but I'll check the members list later for my 'friend's name.

You're doing a fabulous lot of encouragement though, not only for HER, but a lot of other Newbies I suspect. (Hope you got yourself sorted Chris!)

Oh, now I'm well chuffed...... I've checked the Members List, and I'm proud to say that my friend IS registered and posting........
But please, no need to stop telling everyone why exactly you joined this forum and what you love about it anyway. I think this thread could well benefit Newbies who might look in on us here too?

And let's face it, even when we THINK we know it all, things still go wrong, and we need all the encouragement we can get, and a few words of encouragement never go amiss now, do they?

I do hope you will join the forum, as you will see I don't post very often but I always have great replies when I do log on and post. Before registering I just used to come onto the site to read what others had posted but soon realised how friendly everyone was.
