  • Have entered our place on the map. It is showing a row of trees which are no longer there and that is now the veg plot.

        • Hi all,
This sounds a good idea, but can you please tell me how to do it? I went on and saw the others pinned but when I got my map up I could do nothing else.

I'm self taught on the computer and seem to be lerning as I go. My allotment is also on the Isle of Wight so thought it would go to mark my site.

              • Does this help?

1st you must have a google account - open the map and try signing in - top right. When you've signed in/created an account reopen the map.

Type your address or post code in the search bar - click 'search maps'
This should zoom you to where you 'grow' or live.
Under where it says 'google maps uk' click on the tab that says 'My maps' (so you put your pin in the main map where evryone else is).
On the left hand menu (to the right of HWs piccy) click 'edit'
On the map (top left) click on the blue pin (looks like a balloon) and then drag it to where you want it to be, click again to 'set' it.
A box appears - type your details in the Title (and description if you like) then click Okay.
Back on the left hand menu (near HW's piccy) click Save, then click Done.

That should be you added to the Grapes Map?

                  • Added my plot, at last. The photo must have been taken when the previous 'owner' had it as I don't recognise the layout!

I've sussed this at last, bit late in the day for me to try this sort of thing, but I think I'm on now!

                          • I've managed to get on there at last.

Dandelion, the easiest way I found, after signing in, was to click Edit (on left of page)
right click on the plot and click on Add a Placemark
                            then enter your details.
Go back to LHS of page and click done.

It'll be interesting to see where on the island you are
