I'm not bothering with Valentines Day humbug this year, why be all lovey dovey when normally were not. He did offer to take me for a curry but I declined. last year I got a bunch of flowers and a new kettle.

        A kettle? How romantic

I got a nice pressie and a trip to the cinema to see "Hot Fuzz", and then got back to my car to found it broken into and my stereo stolen, a definate baaaah humbug

The larger Boots stores have quite a few fluffy/fun ones to choose from

OH already mentioned this morning that he hadn't got me a card and I answered that I hadn't either - both too busy this week (but we DID get each other lovely ones for our anniversary last week!!).

He has a meeting down the country late tomorrow afternoon, so won't be home until almost bedtime. If I get a chance on the way home, I will get him a single heart chocci to hide inhis computer bag to cheer him up on the way back (and a bar or regular chocci to put in his glovebox to keep him awake coming home!!).

We tend to more or less ignore Valentines in favour of the anniversary and we definitely don't go out that night, tis a terrible night around for hiked up prices, slimmed down menu (with far from slim foods....) and usually terrible sloppy service as they rush you to get the next diners into your still warm seats.

I'm lucky if I get a card but I'm not really bothered, I've got him a little pressie & bought a bottle of rose wine & might bake some fairy cakes with 'love hearts' sweets on top if I get time, he won't be back till late from work though so we won't have time to 'celebrate'.
Two Sheds, if you were going to see Chelsea under 'the Special One' Jose then you would've been in for a treat but I think you might be bored & cold with them playing for Avram Grant now. Look out for my favourite (ex. City) little Sean Wright-Phillips if he's playing.

The boss would go mad if there werent pressies and cards a plenty on the morning of the day. Even from here in the desert I have to ensure there is all manner of stuff of a romantic nature.
Pah. Thing is, I'm probably the least romantic bloke in the world, and I agree totally its just blatent commercialism, so I hate doing it, however I know the penalties for not conforming.
Agree with the rugby comment earlier, however Chelsea might not be too bad a game first time round. The Bridge will be full, so a great atmosphere, but wrap up warm cos it will be cold.

Atmosphere at the Bridge. Lol! You might find a 'prawn sandwich' or two!

I think we need St Valentine's day as a bridge between Christmas/New Year and Easter. It's a long haul at this time of year without a little celebration. There's no need to go all commercial. I'm cooking a special dinner at home. Any excuse!
