  • First day of the rest of my life

Well, here my new life starts! Ive given my notice in at my last job and am on four days holiday before I start my new job. Why is this so interesting - well to me anyway!
Well, Ive just spent the last 30+ years behind a desk doing office type things, and Ive finally taken the plunge to do what I want to do - I start my first shift at Morrisons supermarket in Leyland (Lancashire for those of you who dont know) on Sunday in the Cafe -I can't wait! I'm really excited and up for the challenge of learning new skills. All the staff seem really nice and friendly and helpful - its a really family friendly place to work.
Anyway, I'm SO excited I can't sleep - hence guys and gals I'm back on the Vine. Another plus is that because of the shift I'll be working that will give me more time to play on the Vine and work on my lottie and back garden - happy days!
Thanks to all of you who have sent me good wishes - they have boosted my confidence no end! Also -if you are ever in Leyland, do pop in and say hello! I'd love to see you face to face!

Well done you!! and the very best of luck in your new job.

I've always been cautious and stuck to my comfort zones job wise, but jacking in well paid, braindead factory work for stimulating, crappy paid healthcare assistant was the best thing I've ever done. I now know what job satisfaction is and I get more time with the family.

I really hope you enjoy the change.

PS in other words I've worked on my own, not seeing anyone for the last five years........... think I'm still normal, but you guys will be able to tell me that LOL!

Nice to hear from you Bernie and I hope you enjoy your new beginning!

I swapped a steady job in engineering 20 odd years ago to do something I really enjoy, working outdoors, and I've never looked back!
