  • How big is massive?

Driving back home yesterday having been shopping, and as we passed through Harpenden we noticed several dudes holding up signs that said "Massive Rug Sale".

OK, how big is a massive rug, and where would you put it if you had room?

Ive seen several of these signs too - "massive" methinks is rather a "descriptive" term - when you actually get inside the hall/room etc. the choice - and indeed sizes of the rugs are rather smaller than you would expect! You pays your money and takes your choice! Bernie

I think this is a lose term they are using to bring you in by saying the rugs are massive yet the word although makes you think of big is a word that means a group of flowers , so they have alot of rugs but they don't have to be big.

Surely it should be a massive sale of rugs.

T'is good stuff that, enjoy. I purchased a bottle of Bombadier Satans Mill today. Haven't tried it yet, but I'll let you know.

Just finishing off a glass of Reserva Rioja, then I'm gonna plough my way through a ltr tin of Formidable Ale.

Lots of Ale offers on at the moment, which is great!

HeyWayne, you are priceless. This is the funniest thread I have ever read.

I would like to point out, however, that strictly speaking the word 'massive' has nothing to do with size. A 'massive rug' is one with considerable mass - perhaps one made from lead, or from my ex-mother-in-law's gravy.

A 'low-mass rug sale' would have been much more intriguing. You could have floated home on one of those babies, Sinbad stylee.
