Places you'd love to go before you die

I used to do a fair bit of travelling every year at one point but my circumstances have changed since motherhood yet the wandering spirit never dies. If not for GYO project, it helps to take a bit off my mind but still you know...the loss of that freedom.

Are there places that you'd like to visit before you die as hopefully that should still give us enough time to fulfil our destination dreams.

Next I'd love to visit Mexico, Brazil and Argentina, bits of the Caribbean, the numerous newly independent Balkan states, Russia, central Asia of former USSR via the great Siberian train journey, Jordan, Turkey, Libya, Morocco, China and have yet to see Spain and Greece. I'm sure there are loads more but these are just for starters .

Now live in France and to be honest when I am home I would like to spend much much more time exploring my adopted nation. There is so much history here, cave paintings in the south west, Oradour Sur Glane is a very haunting place, the Alps and Pyrenees, there is so much to see.
Would also like to see the Terracotta army at Xiang Xiang and maybe see the Sea of Tranquility but I doubt the latter will be affordable just yet!!

It's true France is just amazing, easily one of my top European countries but I've been there many times so no real hurry at the moment though would like the idea of living there for a year renting from one place to another from North to South because let's face it, the country's worth it.

Terracotta Army, gosh me too! You can't help but be fascinated by it. Where's the Sea of Tranquility? Thought I knew all the best bits .

Japan - Kyoto and Yakushima, China - Great Wall and Hong Kong, New Zealand - any selection of vineyards, Australia - Melbourne and Uloru (or however you spell it), Chile - see New Zealand (LadyWayne loves a nice Chilean Sauvignon Blanc), Peru - Machu Picchu, Brazil - Rio of course, Madagascar, Mauritius, Vietnam, Nepal, India a bit more of Europe, oh, and Canada.

I would dearly love to go back to Sri Lanka, such a fantastic place - absolutely fell in love with it.

Sea of Tranquility is on the MOON!

If I could go travelling anywhere - I think I'd liked to have hitched a ride with David Attenborough over his long and stunning career - there's not much that amazing man has left to uncover amongst the myriad of life of this planet.

And I would love to travel 'off-world' - but that will be for future, long after I'm gone - unless a little green man should drop by. As long as I could take my son, cats, dog and tortoise - plus a nice box of seeds to grow 'wherever' - provided the little green man was a kindly sort - I'd go in a flash!

have done a few things that i wanted to do, scuba diving on barrier reef, whale watching, climbed the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales, surfed on bondi beach, had high tea at Raffles in Singapore.

still have a to do list which includes, see my daughters grow up and have their own families, go to New York, have a Guiness in a Dublin pub and lots more

hopefully in summer we are doing a road trip across Europe to Slovakia aqnd back again, in planning stages at the moment but i want to see as many countries as possible.

I beg you please!!! go to Peru for Machu Picchu, it's just absolutely breath taking, you can sit towards the top of the ruins for a vantage view and say to yourself, it's a good day to die. The ancient Cusco city is oh so charming too in rustic sort of way. If you go to Peru, you can easily/cheaply cross the border to Bolivia (great salt pan) and Chile (dessert wonderland by Bolivian border) but Ecuador I didn't make it there.

Only been to Tokyo, very short stopover at that ! Hong Kong is fascinating, would choose her to Singapore any day. Nepal has stunning mountain sceneries so much so after you've seen her, everywhere else mountainous looks tame, gentle undulating hills and that's from somebody who haven't even done the trekking yet .

You need longer trip to Australia and New Zealand otherwise not worth it for the costly airfare. I only had 5-9 days each in those two due to very limited time schedule .

I have heard raves about Sri Lankan destination too, people keep saying to go there. If you want to visit Vietnam, Sri Lankan airlines might be cheaper flight option with connection flight at Bangkok, I mean why not see Thailand as well , it also has lots to offer.

My dream has always been Egypt, the boat trip down the Nile and the camel ride out to see the pyramids - I have no idea why (maybe I was an Egyptian in a previous incarnation) but it has always held a fascination for me.

If I had one wish it would be to stand on the peak of K2. After that, everything else would pale into insignificance. I have, (when I was younger and also pre family) climbed and trekked throughout UK, the Alps, Canada and Australia, but K2 would just be the perfect place to call it a day.

I was lucky enough to see quite a lot of Europe when I was younger. I'd like to go back to Italy and France and see more than the main touristy bits. I would love to see Cuba as it is now and before it catches up with the rest of the world. I'd like to tour Eire's ancient sites. Most of all I'd like to trek through the Himalya and reach Chomo-Lungma (Everest) Base Camp (a bit too parky at the top!).

Been as far east as Adana (Turkey) ,south to Gibraltar , north to Murmamsk (Russian Federation)and pretty much everywhere in between during the 10 years that I drove for a living . Before you all say how nice and you got paid for it I did long hours was hijacked by the Russian mob for a week and didn't really see the nice bits unless it was on the way to an industrial estate.That said some of the scenery was pretty and I don't regret one single minute of it at all.

Have been for holidays to the usual spots Ibizia ,the Canaries , Cyprus ,Vegas,Vancouver and Boston.All nice and lovely in their own way but there are 3 places I would love to see before I shuffle off.
1 - Tierra del Fuego . Me and a fishing rod and an obliging 20 lb sea trout.
2 - Alaska and the Northwest Territories in Canada. One of the last great wilderness areas left on the planet.
3-New Zealand . If all goes to plan I intend to retire to NZ just for the scenery (and the fishing (dont tell Mrs B))
