When the trains rumble past our house it's a weird sensation - took some getting used to when we moved in, but I think we'd more than likely wake up if they didn't rumble past at night.

When the Buncefield explosion happened a couple of years ago (I think?) some people near where I live said they heard the bang, but again I was oblivious.

My husband woke me just before 1, asked me if I could feel the bed vibrating(!)....yes, I could, and we're in deepest Kent.

Must have been a bit scary if you live right on top of it, hope everyone is OK.

I'd rather regret the things i've done than regret not doing them at all.

Blimey we missed it all! Didn't feel a thing, I think we were already in bed. I have felt an earthquake before but in another country. I was sound asleep when I was woken up by this strange sensation of the bed swinging wildly.

Were you all up very early in the morning ?

The earth moved in Scarborough too. nearly got hit on the head by a vase of daffs! Missed the end of CSI too, gutted. More impressive than the last one I felt which was apparently stronger, on hols in north wales, just rattled the windows, this one shook the house, quite dramatic. The starlings roosing in the church next door all woke up and had a fly around.

                  Most fun

Woken at 1am by wife who said earthquake coming. 10 secs later and the wardrobes rattled and the floor heaved.

Not as bad as the 1991 one (which lasted 30 secs vs 10 secs or so today) and about the same as the 1984 one - when I was tying my tie and nearly fell down.

                    Nothing new or exciting then:-)

We were both just falling asleep last night here in Manchester (after Lee had to get up to let the dog out as she was behaving really weird, wouldnt settle and wanted to go out, not usual at that time of night - tho not unheard of) when the quake hit, felt like a massive wind had hit the side of the house, the whole house moved, stuff fell off shelving in the back bedroom and bathroom. The noise was like amassive gust of wind hitting the house, and rumbled on for 10 seconds! My first thought was an explosion in the chemical plant a few miles away, an earthquake or a meteorite hit, Mr D thought it was a poltergeist!

Fortunately no damage and after cheking BBC News 24 we went back to bed and soon dropped off to sleep, oh, and the dog settled down as soon as the quake had gone!
                        Blessings

The earth moved for me last night - I fell out of bed and nothing to do with the earthquake. Hope everyone is all right . Remember to check your lotties to make sure no water pipes have been burst and are running away .And be carefull round the green houses - check em for broken glass.
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

I thought it was the wind as we had quite severe weather last night. As the floor shook, O'erindoors turned to me and said "was that you?"
I you'st to have a handle on the world .. but it BROKE!!

Did the earth move for you....?

The british Geological Survey would like you to fill in a questoinaire if you felt the quake.

                                I have, its dead simple.
