Sorry everyone, never felt a thing. Thought the girls were pulling my leg when I got into work in the morning and they asked if I'd felt the earth move (they know I live on my own). Then checked online news and it was felt by several people around 10 miles away from here, also my daughter said she heard something around 1 am but assumed it was the noisy neighbours so ignored it.

I was woken by it (in Suffolk) but thought it was drunks banging the front door and went back to sleep.

Here in Scunny (nearly 30 miles away)we got a loud BANG noise, followed by the whole house shaking violently. My first sleep-addled thoughts were 'wind's blown a window in' 'steelworks have exploded' oh no, earthquake, of course
It did actually quite frighten me, couldn't get back to sleep til i'd looked out front and back, had a drink, and got fully dressed in case it happened again and we had to leave the house
