  • Hopi candles

I know there are some "alternative" therapists on here, and I was wondering if anyone knew much about hopi candles? Good thing? Bad thing? Advice?

    Many ta's in advance.

Practise makes us a little better, it doesn't make us perfect.

I'm guessing you need a qualified practitioner? I was thinking of having it done when I go to Centre Parcs. Just a bit conscious of what might come out (and no, I don't mean my brain!).

I'm not qualified to do it but was shown how to do it by a qualified practitioner. I don't do it on clients but family and friends. It was great combined with reflexology to sort my sons glue ear and it's saved my Nan having to have her ears syringed.
It is relaxing and is supposed to cleanse your aura, I usually do reiki at the same time.
What comes out is usually very shocking the first time you see it! Don't worry about it though the practitioner will be used to it and won't be shocked!
Personally (unless you have a specific reason to have it done) I think there are more relaxing therapies, can't recommend reflexology strongly enough, IHM is lovely too.

I seem to have excessive ear wax (sorry for anyone else reading this), and have to have my ears syringed at least once a year - which I don't mind but it's just the convenience thing. I thought, as I was there at Centre Parcs it'd save me another trip to the doctors.

          IHM?

              Ah, that IHM

Don't you have to be careful with those, especially if you have a high BP like me? I usually have a Swedish massage, I get really knotty between my shoulders so ask them to really go it at - which they usually do.

Depends how high your BP is, is it medication high?
Here's some more info on ear candles....
