Lainey Lou, can you pick me up on the way?
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom

I've come to take you home."

Lol! Can tell you don't drive, Lincoln is not on the way to Colchester from Wiltshire!!! We used to live near Chelmsford, not far enough away from London for my liking.

It'll take you about three hours to get here Seahorse, then about four more to get across town.

You're all very welcome though, of course!

I'd be interested to know how many other folk have!
Yep you sure have topped the record with your 84 cookery books although Momol has mentioned to me as having few metres long of cookery book collection.

I still have no vegetable growing garden book as I tended to buy garden books for the pictures of beautiful garden.

The books I have now are:
                1) how to feng shui your garden (small book)
                2) one for rockery garden (small narrow book)
                3) one for water feature garden (small book that neighbour never returned before moving)
                4) one just general garden (small garden with pretty pictures of garden)
                5) one for everything, reference type (A4 size book that ex-colleague never returned)

So down to 3 books due to 'theft' from borrowing. moral of the story, don't ever lend your books.

cripes!! I have found another 22 - this is awful

I reckon I will log them all and see if I can pass some on as there is no way I can ever read them all or would even need them all

I am feeling much better now - I think I have maybe 15 or so. I have a bookcase which has 1 shelf dedicated to cookery books (and another couple of lever arch files elsewhere). But the gardening books are on the same shelf as the DIY, house design and craft books. And the travel books take up almost another shelf, with 1 more for history and current affairs/politics and another one for money/business/economics (and I have a further bookcase in the office with 2 shelves of economics books that I daren't bring home altogether to show OH - a few are texts, but most are more discussion types). And a couple of shelves of novels and classics.

We have about 80 cookery books and 74 gardening ones. One cookery book is a work in progress as I am (trying) to write a seasonal allotment recipe book with only my creations in it, more difficult than you think .

Gardening books, I think I have around 20..? Although the postie has just delivered 3 from TheBookPeople... (2 of them were Book Point ones though )
Books in general though; I have 3 sets of shelves in my bedroom, double rows, 1 on landing, double rows, 1 big floor to ceiling set in dining-room, also double rows! And then piles in front room, bedroom floor, kitchen table... I'd really love to have them all in one place, and organised properly, but we just haven't got the room!

The only gardening book I could never be with out is the one my late departed Dad gave to me, is The Reader's Digest "The gardening Year" Dad called it his "Bible" its now a right old dog eared tatty copy but its a family heirloom to me. My other favorite ones are the green house expert and a propagation book cos I'm tight with my money and like getting some thing for nothing

According to Mrs G too many

But when you're a Guru you don't need many ... seriously, I have about 10 main ones that get used all the time, 6 or so that I like (Geoff Hamilton cottage gardens and the like) and then about 15 or so old books mainly by Dr Sewell Cooper - It's the old books that get me I'm afraid, I do like collecting them infact I bought another the other day of flea bay
