Seriously wish I'd kept my great nanna's wicker n wheels shopping trolley thingamy!

One of my earliest memories is being pulled along in it as a nipper - was one of the first things the family dumped when she passed away :-(

Sue you are so right, we can do more than just stop using plastic bag and avoid supermarket is a good start to free yourself from consumerism. I am a very poor student, living in London and I just make the move with my boyfriend to simply stop going to the supermarket. To be honest it was mainly because we always ended up with more stuff than we actually need and it was to hard for our budget. We have a wonderful vegi shop which sell or organic or local food and its cheap!!
I am using my trolley and the only things we buy on the supermarket are meat ( organic so we eat much less but enjoy more) and few other items such as pasta or rice.
Second, Jeanine you are right by saying that the more you are busy outside talking with Nature the less buying-rubbish-just-for-the-sake-of-it make sense.
Its an everyday battle but each step individuals takes against the destructive way of consumption, is a important step. One plus one...

ha well by the way does anyone use Ecover product?
I do, you just buy one bottle of soap ( basically all cleaning product are available) and then you just fill up the same bottle at your local retailer for cheaper. Not a bad idea I think Have my bottles for a few months now
If I would buy new ones each time than would be around 10 bottles already!
