Was out on Friday night (most unusual for me), and busy as a one-legged man in a but kickking contest all weekend.

Looks like I'll have to try that BBC iPlayer thingywotsit.

At least it's a step in the right direction and hopefully will give rise to more people renting allotments and stop councils getting rid of them.

Interesting! I missed the programme but articles like this will definitley get me watching again.

One question though - what type of land is his virgin allotment? With the growing interest nationally and increasing waiting lists it would be good to have a him clear an unused plot rather than jump straight into a ready made one. You only have to look at the numbers of people joining this forum having just taken on a jungle of a plot to see how common it is

Ok it might be a boring show compared to sowing seeds etc but I'm sure a lot of people could benefit from the education, different methods etc. Who knows maybe some of the 'want it on a plate' types will be encouraged to get stuck in and regenerate their local site?
