Well done GP, you're brave for stepping in as not many people would do that for fear of getting injured. You often hear of people getting beaten up just for trying to help stop a fighting etc so you can't always blame people for being a coward. I remember some years ago Glenda Jackson's son lost his eye when he tried to intervene in a fight.
Unless you're own your own, one could always 'gang up' with the watching crowd but you must shout for help, engage them with eye contact (otherwise it's like they're in denial state of mind). I would have thought a group of 4-5 men can easily hold down a violent man. My plea is if you ever witness a violent crime, gang up because there is safety in numbers but always make sure you're safe first. Obviously dealing with a group of thugs is a different matter, too risky.
That’s fantastic, I have just stopped with nothing and so far so good; i have wanted to stop for sometime and now made that commitment, no turning back
What helped me through the few cravings I had (sounds disgusting) was keeping a full ashtray - when I felt the need for a ciggy I used to smell the ashtray and think that was what my breath smelled like when I smoked. Stopped the craving nearly all the time, but at low willpower times I used to drop a bit of water into the ash - blimey that stinks!!
I'm disguted and cannot believe that no-one stepped in to help you helping the young lad. I was having a conversation at work today about how thugs think it is okay to beat, kick, stab or shoot people - what kind of world are we living in? The son of somone I used to work with was knifed in the head a few months ago because some thugs wanted his mobile phone... luckily he wasn't too badly injured, but all he'd done was go to the cinema with a friend of his, he was in a public town centre and it wasn't even that late at night! I hope you start to feel better soon.

Thanks pjh75, yes it’s a blooming cruel world we live in, I’m doing ok now and getting my bearings back still very sore and swollen, I just don’t understand myself why people stand about and watch someone been kicked ½ to death or why anyone thinks they have rights to do such nasty things to each other. It makes me so mad & sick thinking about it.
No not been near to see me, no note to say anyone called yesterday or today, i stayed all yesterday & today at a friends house, came home at 4ish. The only time i spoke to the police was Saturday night to answer some questions they asked me, not made any statement yet.
