Last time I was walking up there I did the West Highland Way and glorious it was too. we keep saying we must go back and do it again but haven't managed it yet.

Last year I had a week around Oban that was good as it never rained all week ( it was when we had all the floods round here!) but never made it to the home of the smokie

The East coast is completely different to the West or the Highlands but beautiful all the same. If you're ever up my neck of the woods feel free to pop in. Smokies are the food of the gods....proper ambrose. I'll send you a sample if you want.......miles better than kippers.

I love the Highlands.....Aviemore is probably my favourite place that i have ever visited.

Well this thread seems to have died off a bit so i'd like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has posted on my threads (not just this one) for making me feel so welcome. Being a car enthusiast i am a member of numerous car-related forums which can be quite cliqueish.......not the feeling i have gotten from the Grapevine at all (i think that over 60 posts in the first day speaks for itself)

Sun shining I'm on me last days holiday and no hangover ... might even manage to get out with the camera later... The only down sides are I've got to pay the man for the windows today and back to wearing normal clothes tomorrow
