Didn't know what to entitle this so went for the obvious!!
A few weeks before Xmas I went shopping, as yer do. Just sort of mooching, looking for ideas. I found some bedding, for me, not Xmouse pressies. Inna pre Xmouse sale. My bed and bedding is Kingsize and so was this and I liked it so bought it. The picture on the front showed a quilt which wasn't included in the set I bought and I couldn't find it in the store.
Cuppla weeks later, Xmouse shopping with my daughter, I came across some lampshades that went so well with my new bedding I bought them. The lampshades before were the paper chinese thingies. When I went to put the new ones up the fittings were too big. They were intended for the new Eco leccy stuff.
Too far to go back and complain so sat back defeated. Searched the internet for "lampshade reducers" with no result. When I went to the local "sheds" eventually (for other stuff) I eventually found them in B&Q for 98p each . I went looking for the Quilt that went with the rest of the bedding, I found it but at full price but paid it ( still a good bargain) but whilst I was there had an interesting conversation with a member of staff.
MOS - Can I help you?
ME - I was looking to see if you have lampshade reducers as you have them on a lot of your lampshades.
MOS - You shouldn't need them, the law says that all electrical fittings have to be the new eco fittings,
ME - That is only for new build.
MOS - No it is compulsory, all houses have to have the new fittings.
Me - (sarcastically) so you think that all the millions of houses in this country have to be rewired.
MOS - (seriously) yes, it's the law.
Perleeease. Could staff be trained properly.
I've got the reducers through my son (leccytrishion) £1.20 for 6. Someone, somewhere is deffo taking the pi$$. Oh, and he wasn't mean enough to make me pay for them.
