3 little boys whom to be frank, have the best job in the world I reckon! Yes, JC can be arrogant, but that is the nature of the programme. I love their irreverence, their non PC ways and their boyish pranks. It is quite refreshing to see such controlled irresponsibility on TV these days...

And when the mini digger slid sideways into the trench... Shirls and I were splitting our side with laughter. Using a copy of a V1 pulse jet as a BBQ, turbocharged water-features... Mk1 son and I were going to make a jet powered go-cart a while ago using a lorry engine turbocharger, an igniter, a Calor gas bottle and a pram so I for one can appreciate the madness these guys are blessed with. Mk1 son even suggested using detonator cord to get rid of some Conifers in our garden by tying it around the base of the tree and detonating it. What a brilliant idea - you get to demolish the tree AND it gets mulched all in one go! This goes along the lines of pruning a tree with a shotgun I suppose.

It just shows how clueless us petrol heads can be in the garden. Fortunately Shirls is educating me. Slowly. Painfully. Methodically. But she is educating me!
      Let's go diggin' dirt....

Big silver bird, come land low and slow
Cut your engines, cool your wings,
      You've taken me home...

Fully agree, Madmax. One of the funniest pieces of television I have seen for some time. Scarey55 and her Mum (staying with us at the mo) were in near-terminal stitches, and it did me a power of good - my Doctor having notified me earlier in the day that a growth on my ear is, in his words, a local cancer. Not sure quite what that means, perhaps the specialist will enlighten me on Tuesday.

Back to the plot - yes, it was staged, scripted, controlled, submitted to H&S in quintuplicate and partially sanitised by the PC brigade, no doubt; but it was entertainmant, and bloody good entertainment at that. If, as a result of that madness, one more AIDS orphan can be educated, one more potential suicide can be counselled out of it, one more terminally ill child can be given a holiday or one more sink estate kid saved from a life of crime then, for me, bring it on!

And just like caravaning with the boys - nothing? was fixed!

Noticed they had another pyrotechnic bit - the victim this time the shed.

Another hilarious programme fronted by this great trio!

Oh shoot I missed it - I misread the paper and saw sport relief was coming back after news etc at 10.45, so I nipped out to the supermarket for the shopping and only realised I'd missed it after 12!!

Any chance it would be repeated - given that it was a seperate show to the main sport relief??
