  • Lifes good

Today is my last rest day so from tommorow I have four 12 hour shifts to look forward too. I say lifes good cos I am fortunate enough to have a grand job and work with a great bunch, the craic is a fabulous foil to the work.

Lifes good cos I am spending all afternoon in the greenhouse at home potting on, potting up, pricking out and sowing seeds.

Lifes good cos its warm, the radio is on and dinner is all ready for when my good lady gets home and the fire is laid.

Lifes good as there is a knockout bottle of rioja to go with dinner and and pudding is going to be freshly pulled rhubarb and ginger crumble with custard.

Lifes good.............so why do I keep looking over my shoulder wondering whats going to go tits up.

Life's good coz all my seedlings are looking really healthy, and I haven't had any failures yet this year.

Life's good coz it's only 10 days til we go on our holidays for a week to a beautiful cottage in Wales.

Life's good coz I got home from the lottie at lunchtime & my Crimson Flowered Broad Bean seeds from Muckdiva were on the doormat.

There's plenty of stuff going tits-up, I'm just choosing not to think about it

      Glad you are both happy!

Life is good coz Madmax will be home on Sunday for about 10 days.

Life is good as a little bluetit just landed on the windosill 4 feet from me to get some seeds I put out there.

Life is good because my pea seedlings popped through this morning after sending a scout yesterday

Um, like Sarz, ignoring all the rubbish stuff that keeps going on around me (where in Wales you visiting lass?)

Life's good because the horse chestnut tree is just starting to burst its buds and I think I can see that the robins are going to nest in the hedge.

Life's good with plenty of seeds in modules all ready to go

Life's good as the order book is full with plenty more on the horizon

I may be working, but life's good because as I work from home, I'm able to smell the bread cooking in the kitchen.

Life's good as there's a couple of days off at the end of the week, and the holiday's on the horizon

Life's good as I'm close enough to piglet's to go round and steal his extremely good bottle of rioja... oops!

If it does go tits up, well, you plan what you can, and after that who knows!

Life is good coz my Red Robin Tomato & Hot Mexican Chilli seedlings have all decided to appear this week

Life is good coz i've got most of my "to do" list done at work today

Life is good coz it's a long bank holiday weekend this weekend

And life is good coz i'm also going on my hen do this weekend

And i'm trying to put a postive "rose tinted" glow on the rubbish stuff too...

Life's good because I went to my new half lottie and marked out and dug over my frst bed. Because the soil is so crumbly and lovely I got it to a reasonable tilth with the fork. A quick brush-up with the rake will have it in fine shape.

Because my greenhouse is getting full of seedlings all jostling for room in the veg plot and the lottie (soon, my dears, soon...!) and the clarkia for the cutting patch have come though. That makes annual lupin, clarkia, sunflower, monarch of the veldt and scabious ebony and ivory through so far.

Because I just got back from my optician's appointment where I found that my long distance vision is improving. (However, close up vision is dis-improving in one eye - but not enough yet to need reading glasses). My eye pressure is fine - Ma has glaucoma so I need an annual check up.

Because all my family and friends are healthy and appear to be happy.

Because I discovered the grape vine exactly a year ago and found some really great people. My veg patch this year will reflect how generous many of you are. I hope some people will have their gardens 'Flummed' this year if only a little - more swaps when I've bulked up my HSL specials!

It has been suggested that the reason I'm always happy is simply that I don't realise how bad the situation is!

Life's good because it's a year on from this time last year- which was truly horrid for me, my close friends and my family.

Life's good because I get to be with my little boy at home.

Life's good because we have the Vine as our 'virtual cafe' for our GYO hobby/pastime/project, it's like we're all in the similar state of mind, so good to share our thoughts and experience.

Life's good because we have Wilko for cheap gardening supplies .

The biggest tits-up that makes me nervous is the global credit crunch .

                  Life's good because...

... people keep being nice to me

... I can see my Billy Bragg ticket from here

... I finally found a song that calms my son down (even though I have to sing it about 1000 times a day!)

                  ... I planted tomatoes today

... I've got lots of ingredients in for Easter baking

I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

                    Because ...

My SIL came through a fairly major op a few weeks ago and seems to be well on the mend now.

My job hunting seems to be receiving some positive attention.

Its almost the easter weekend and I can get OUTSIDE.

I've met sooooo many lovely peeps since joining this great forum.

Flummy, me too darling. My Dad had G, so I now do have my annual check-up, and I just have, and I'm fine, apart from maybe a teeny weeny bit high cholesterol.

Life is good because J and I are actually living our dream

Life is good because despite health problems, they're under control and we can get them dealt with easily and quickly

Life is good because I finished the first fruit tunnel yesterday

Life is good because if I look out the front windows I can look across the valley, watch the buzzards and see the village

Life is good because if I look out the back windows I can see 'our' woods and the potager and all my fruit bushes

Life is good because we made it so and still make it so

Life is good because we have friends from across the world

Life is good because we garden and we belong to the Grapevine lottie community ......
