  • Hello From Alice Again

Hello everybody, I've been moving house (what a trauma) so haven't been around for a while. Things are a bit more settled now and I've got some planting started. I'll need all the help and support I can get from you folks as the garden is almost a blank canvas.
It's lovely to see all my old gardening friends there and all you new (to me) people. Happy gardening everybody.

    welcome back Alice,
Its strange but i was thinking that we hadn't heard from you for a while at the weekend. (browsing your piccies of the fab chillis/peppers you grew last year) Are you growing the same this year?

Welcome back Alice! We have missed you.

I'm so glad to hear that the move has been completed and you are now ensconsed in Perth. I hope it wasn't too traumatic. Well at least you are already starting to think about planting! What is your site like? Flat this time or are you going to be terracing again? Lots of nice south facing ground? Lots of questions! Let us know what it is like.

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

Great to have you back Alice. Did'nt know you were moving house but glad you're all settled now. It must be nice to have a garden to plan out from scratch. Perhaps you might post some pics of the garden when you get settled.

                  Hello Alice,
                  wondered where you'd been.
A blank canvas, how exciting, what are your plans? Got any photos?
                  Nice to have you back!

I've thought about you too, Alice - so it is good to see you back amongst us!

Although I don't know how you could bear to leave your beautiful garden, it's exciting to be able to plan from scratch.

Hello everybody and thank you for the welcome back. I've missed you all. My new garden is much smaller than the one I had - just about a quarter acre - but it's level, south facing and completely enclosed, so I'm sure I can do something good with it. There's not much in it, lots of snowdrops and daffodils and precious little else. But there's no deer so that's a blessing.

I haven't got a fully formulated plan yet but I'll be doing my kitchen garden in containers and raised beds the same as before as that worked well for me. I've already started this years planting with salad leaves, aubergines, chillies and peppers. The Pak Choi I planted on Sunday had to come out of their poly bag today! I'm hoping to get some potatoes into buckets this afternoon. I've no greenhouse but I do have a small conservatory and plan to make good use of it. It's all very exciting.

I'll post some pics as soon as there's anything to show you. Happy gardening everybody.

                          Hi Alice,

                          Great to have you back.

I am glad that you are settled in now, I know how much hassle you've had but at least you are nearer your family now!

No deer? That will make life easier.

Can wait to see your new garden taking shape, I just know it is going to be fantastic.

                          Keep in touch, Mandy x
