I generally wear some hiking trainer type things (like this: http://i6.ebayimg.com/06/i/000/9d/f0/f708_1_b.JPG). I find wellies uncomfortable plus an old ankle injury leaves me yelping in pain trying to pull wellies off. Find my shoes much more comfortable

Umm, I usually wear whatever I happen to have on as I wander to the garden to look at something and pick up a fork or whatever. If I actually plan to go dig then the Hunter wellies (thanks again Dad) I got for 2007 birthday are the comfiest thing going. Just as well I chose brown ones as they are always covered in mud from the horse field or the garden! No pic as they are at the livery yard tonight (no digging the garden planned with the wet windy weekend forecast here)Happy Gardening,

I wear a pair of walking boots that I bought in the Lake District more years ago than I care to remember, I had only worn them on a couple of holidays until I got the allotment last month. The first time I went to the allotment to dig out the brambles and weeds foolishly I wore an old pair of Clarks boots the upper and sole parted company after two hours. The walking boots with padded ankles, long socks and thick jeans protect me from the brambles when I get entangled in the thorns.

I have a selection.
Two pairs of safety wellies, one pair of leather lined Le Chameau wellies, rigger boots, steel toe capped safety boots and steel toe capped trainers. Sometimes it takes me half an hour to decide what to wear - but usually wellies!!Rat

The top of the spade sliced into it and peeled a thick layer of skin off the bottom of my foot. Luckily it healed really well, but I now make sure I wear sturdy shoes at least. Favourite is an old pair of leather walking boots (I don't like wellies cos they make my feet sweat)
Wellies? Mine are just bog standard Dunlop size 12's. I might take a pic in a bit (just doing some seed planting and came into the study to check some things online).

Practise makes us a little better, it doesn't make us perfect.
