Off today and Monday. Just pottering about in the garden today (was going to mow the lawn, but the ground is still too wet). Not venturing out much over the weekend, apart from having my ears hopi candled tomorrow morning, then going to see my folks, up to Sheffield on Sunday to see the outlaws and the usual cleaning, cooking, shopping...

Have been off all week and don't have to go back to work till Tuesday so makes a nice long holiday, will have to work some other B/Hols through rest of year though. Other than taking the dog out for a walk will spend the rest of the time tucked up indoors given the weather forecast I think.

I am in the same position as Granpa Dragon it is majic did thirty odd years driving a Milk Tanker bank holidays meant double time and a day of in lew .
When i used to be working a bank holiday and driving along in the rain and watching all the people going out on day trips i used to think why should they be enjoying themselves whilst i am working so to all the people working thank you i have been there and know what it is like jacob

Nobody is here - Easter holiday is just Monday and then not that widely observed. Although we usually have 11 BHs a year, this year there's only ten because two coincide. Unless they fall on a Tuesday or Thursday when some people take a bridging day Monday or Friday to make a long weekend, BHs are generally ok but that's all.

And there's no such thing here as a day off in lieu - if the BH is on a Saturday or Sunday and you're not due to work on that day anyway, it's tough. Good Friday and Boxing Day are not holidays here anyway.

friday off, working a short shift on saturday, then sunday and monday off and only have a 3 day week next week as they owe me a lieu day

I was planning on making some headway on the new lottie but it's freezing and blowing a gale! I spent the morning digging and transporting a trailer full of free compost (i love freecycle!) across town, did a bit of tidying up including battling the winds to spread a huge tarpaulin over half the plot, and I'm bl@@dy knackered now!

I'll be in Richmond tonight ,Hull in the morning then Derby and Nuneaton. Thats if the boat sails (or even turns up.) See you all out there.
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

I do have some Bombay Sapphire, David, but in cold weather I prefer a nice glass of red wine - just finished off the sloe gin the other evening, unfortunately. On the plus side, I'm off all Easter weekend and the rest of next week

I usually take a week's holiday this time of year, just to catch up on the lottie. The weather here is not so good at the moment and snow is forecast, but I'm hoping for some sunshine next week. Got to get those early spuds in soon, since the dratted things decided to start sprouting when we had that warm spell at the end of January

I thought France was shut on a Monday Tony

We always seemed to arrive in France on a Monday on four bikes and nowhere was open!

I am enjoying being a mature student at uni as I broke up for Easter on 13th March and go back 15th April - plenty of lottie time, baking, leisurely dog walking and chook watching
