Really mixed bag here in Kent, needle sharp ice coming down, looking like polystyrene granuals then rain, then a bit of sun and back with the polystyrene. The wind was icy and after going up the allotment to clean out the hens it took hours for my feet to thaw out!

As promised a picture taken at the top of Stainmore on the A66 on Friday night at around 21.00 -

After my delivery in Catterick I noticed the signs saying that the A66 was closed so I must have been one of the last lorries over it on Friday night.

It's just started snowing here by the North Sea, after hail y'day. It won't lay as the ground is wet, and salty ( **prays**)

Been snowing here since we woke up, and we have a good inch or two laying now. Can't believe how cold it is outside! I went out to hang up a couple more fat snacks for the birds, and my hands went numb in just a few seconds.

Hoping the pond doesn't freeze, with all the fresh frog spawn in the water.

I honestly don't mind the snow . I can see it ,it's black ice thats the real danger. But like everything else on the road its a matter of adjusting your driving to the conditions. I've seen the M6 go from 3 lanes and a hard shoulder to two black lines in the snow in about 5 miles and it snowing so hard you could not see 50 yards in front of you .That night I stopped in Tebay and went to bed . It was all gone when I woke up.

Great pictures Gigleypants. We have had snow falling since around 7.30, but it's not settling.

We've had a full set of weather here as well.

I've just been out in the garden and got my runners in from the cold frame (still waiting for them to germinate) and don't want them to go mouldy. Also put the chitting spuds in the garage.

                      It's so blooming cold.

The icy wind has dropped here and the sun is still brightly shining. Radio Gloucester said yesterday to expect snow by dawn today, but no sign of it. Just like a spring day out there with all the gorgeous little lambs bleeting outside the gate for their mummies. AH!

Still coming on and off here. In between thaws we have had some major downfalls of hail - half inch across, honest!

Here all the snow has melted, but its quite soggy and very cold.

I went out to a local nursery yesterday a bought some more fleece to cover up my little plants in the greenhouse. All snuggly now.
