    I've decided..........

    I prefer a late Easter.

Time off work, too early to plant, ground too sticky to work on and too cold to be gardening!

    Am I getting soft?

Nope...I feel the same- although I suppose it's meant we've had 'quality time' with the rest of the extended family.
I suppose it does you good just sitting , chatting, cooking and eating instead of rushing about.
The lottie is still there- elderly parents may not be this time next year.

Just need to burn off the calories now though!!!

Me too. Only able to spend a total of 1 hour on the allotment this weekend. Argghhh!!!!! And all my plants in cells are getting too big, the mini-greenhouse thing in the back garden is full, most of my spuds are chitted and ready to go.......and the forecast for next weekend is not looking much better.

Me too - I've always quoted the "plant seed potatoes on Good Friday" thing. Not this year - we've had snow all weekend and the ground is cold and wet. Most I've done with my four days off is played with the grandchildren and sown some tomatoes. Apart from clearing the front path of snow and feeding the guineapigs it's been a bit of a waste.

I'm with you there Farmer Gyles, although I'm suffering an overdose of 'over-chocolated' kids... Why does it turn them into complete delinquents

We aren't Christian so we don't "do" Easter - no chocolate eggs. (both on diets anyway)

The weather has been atrocious, but not that unusual for end of March. I got up the allotment for half an hour, in a hailstorm, and we had two half hour walks to the beach. Apart from that, its been tellybox/DVDs for 4 days. Mr Sheds couldn't wait to get back to work this morning, he was awake at 5.
(I did teach myself to use the automatic buttonholer on my sewing machine, so it wasn't all wasted)

I looked at the weather in 2006's 'what I did today' thread and it seems that many people had freezing weather and snow at the end of that March; I did finish off my choccie bunny this morning so back on the straight and narrow for me.

I did manage some rearranging of garlic and leeks yesterday, but it was too cold for anything else.

Roll on some sunny days; getting a bit impatient now.

Well I've enjoyed meself! Did a fair bit of sowing and pricking out. Got a bed dug over on the lottie and this morning I've planted some first earlies in a sheltered part of ther garden plot in lovely sunshine. It's gone off a bit now mind!

I think it's age and common sense you're suffering from Snadger, not softiness. Where I'm from, people would call you 'nesh' for not wanting to go out in the bad weather. I hold up my hands - nesh I am!

As someone who walks around the house in flip flips, 3/4 length trousers and a t-shirt pretty much all year round, I must admit that I too am fed up with the cold and miserable weather.

I had so many plans for the bank holiday weekend, yet spent most of it either Wii-ing, watching tripeovision, dossing about the house or other such slothenly activities (along with the usual cooking/cleaning etc). Managed to visit both sets of parents though and get a heater for my mini greenhouse.

                            COME ON SPRING/SUNSHINE/WARMTH!!!

                            Getting a little impatient now.
